Pineapple grapefruit salad recipe «with mayonnaise»

This is a highly refreshing chilled fruit salad. The combined flavor of grapefruit and pineapple with sweet sour taste of mayonnaise makes this pineapple and grapefruit salad delicious to eat.



pineapple slices2 cups
water1 cup
sugar½ cup
grapefruit sections cut into halves2 cups
marshmallows (miniature)¼ cup
mayonnaise½ cup


Recipe method for preparing pineapple grapefruit salad

  • Pour water into a saucepan and add sugar. If required you can add mint leaves for flavor.
  • Heat sugar water over flame and stir often to dissolve sugar.
  • When the solution becomes syrupy remove the pan from flame.
  • Allow the syrup to cool for 15 minutes.
  • Add mayonnaise to the syrup and mix well.
  • Take the diced sections into a bowl and mix them well.
  • Pour the syrup and mayonnaise mixture and coat the fruit pieces well.
  • Cover the bowl and chill the salad for about one hour.
  • In the recipe garnish with miniature marshmallows or mint leaves.
(pineapple recipe: preparation time 20 minutes; this excludes the chilling time; if required crushed ice cubes may be put above the garnish; 10 servings; try without sugar syrup to get strong tart taste)
